Hi Nancy!

I was an only child, and always wished I had a brother or sister. When I was married and had 2 sons and was expecting my third child, I wanted a girl so badly, I told the doctor in the delivery room "this baby better be a girl or I'm not taking it home. It was a girl, and her 2 brothers were happy about it, too! They are very close to this day.

I really enjoyed your Family Memory about your little brother. And I hope you submitted this to the Sisters' and Brother's Soul. The deadline is looming!

I hope you're doing well, and writing up a storm. I am.

Hi Renie,

Yes, I did send this one to the Sister and Brother Soul. And yes, I've been writing and sending things out, too. I think we both spend many hours working on this passionate love of ours--writing.

Wow, I love this story! I can feel all the excitement, anticipation, disappointment, and then warmth and love as you looked down into little Jimmy's sweet face and cuddled him close!

Thanks for sharing!

Reminds me of when I was pregnant with our sixth child. We had several offers to adopt the child if it was another girl, since we already had one boy & four girls. We turned them all down and so glad we did. We wouldn't have missed all our years with Shannon for all the gold in the world. Good story Nancy, Gail & Clyde

Nancy, what a treasure you are, to create such a lovingly-worded story about your brother. Chicken Soup better grab this one, as it's a keeper.
Love,
Maria

A precious story of love, one sibling for another. I felt what you felt. "Love" K.L. Farnum

Hi Nancy,
I could sense your obvious love for your baby brother, and it reminded me of the love I had for my now deceased baby brother all the years we were growing up together. As the only girl, you probably held a special place of honor among your siblings.
Love the way you described kissing Jimmy's brow in the car. Oh, how precious.
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Hi Nancy! Lovely story and isn't it amazing how quickly you fell in love with another boy? Like you, I always yearned for a sister.

Hi Kathy,

That "baby brother" became a grandfather a couple weeks ago. Made me feel a bit ancient! As for sisters, remember that I did get two adopted sisters late in life, our dear Kathe C and Maria Harden. I'm sure you read my story "Wish Upon A Star" which told how that came about.

Oh yes, I remember that story well. Guess it's never too late for a sister! :-)
