A couple of things in your story I found of great interest. They arrived in NY on Feb.11, 1892. My wife was born on Feb 11, 1929. Last two digits inverted. I'm sure it doesn't mean a thing, but interesting. Next, they were married on the ship and then again after reaching America. My wife and I were married twice on the same day in Tokyo, first in the Japanese Ward office and later in the American Embassy. We got married again in the church after we arrived in the USA.

You are so right in your admonishment to ask questions. I am 73 and my remaining sister 78. Both of us wanted to know so much in our later years but the ones we could have asked are now long gone. Keep telling them, ask the questions while they have a chance.

How we all wish we had asked questions of our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Lost forever are hundreds of true stories...too little, too late seems to be the case. It is so important to find out all we can about family history. But, how lovely that you know this much about your Irish ancestors, K.L. Thanks for sharing ~ Susan
