Dear Gail,

What a great list of writing topics you have offered for consideration to keep us writing in the new year. Your list prompted me to ask myself where I was when a major event (like Pearl Harbor) took place that changed the world.

I'm delighted to read that you will be helping Scott with the web site. What a wonderful gift of a place to express ourselves in the written and spoken word he has given us. Thanks and all good wishes for the new year. Veronica

Oh, great triggers, Big Sister! I've sort of been in hiatus myself--this will get me going again. Thanks! Little Sister Carol

Gail, I have memories of almost, not quite everything you have on your list. Our butter churn was wood rather than glass and of the three games you list, I remember Jacks but only played marbles and got in trouble with that. The school principal seemed to think they were a sin for children. A great list that I'll wager many of our readers and fellow writers never experienced because they are not old enough to.

I look forward to seeing detailed stories and memories on each of these topics. How about adding some writings on:
favorite pets
weekly visits to town
getting dishes as premiums at the movies
visits from the Stanley Brush man
getting your first television
starting school
Now these are triggering some memories that I need to put on paper as well!

Glad you asked. I can recall one about the need for rubber during WW2. Remind me again should I forget, Gail. Kath

What a great idea, Gail! I think I'll make a list myself. Looking forward to your writing about all the things on your list.

Gail, that was an interesting list, especially for me born in 1955 who hasn't experience half of these! I REALLY want you to write about one thing on your list which sounds intriguing -- Bird nest in the overalls. That sounds like a story begging to be told!

Hi Gail,

It sure was good to see your name on a posting when I got home from Houston. Oh yes, we were at the sad bowl game K-State played Thursday night. We met up with a team that just plain out-played us. We had a good time with all the bowl activities anyway.

I was really pleased to see you are going to be helping Scott with OurEcho. I know he'll really appreciate your help.

Look forward to reading some of the stories those
"triggers" you listed will prompt.

Happy New Year,
Nancy
