I am very touched by your story, Fred, mainly because I lost my youngest child, a son age 13, in October, 1999. It hurts deeply to lose a loved one. The sudden death of one's child is more traumatic than imaginable. You never completely get over the loss. I know that Dominick still lives in your heart, as does my son Luke. Thank you for sharing such a poignant memory with us readers.
Sincerely,
Sandi in FL.

You are so right Sandi, you never get over it. It has been a quarter of a century and I certainly haven't gotten over it. They say a grown man isn't supposed to cry, but I do every time I think or talk about it after all this time. Thanks.

How lucky both Dominic and his mother
were -to have a much needed fatherly figure come into their lives at just the right time. God bless you and Tae for providing much love and care to
Dominic during his formative years. I'm sure you brought much happiness to both him and his mother during this time. It is something that you and Tae will always be happy and proud remembering and have shelved it in the VERY SPECIAL department. We can't have too many here.

Amazing story with such depth, heart, and soul. The true meaning of "parent/child love."

So tragic and painful that this happened, though, such a blessing that you and Tae were there when you were needed and that you showed such love and kindness! I'm so sorry for your loss and your pain...

Your love for this young man comes through so clearly. No doubt he loved you in the same way. Such a tragic end for a fine child.

That is a very happy and sad story Fred. But I am sure he always remembered what you and Tae did for him. He would have been something today I am sure. Life is never fair. I can tell you that. But he was loved. Thank you.
