I'm seeing this in my mind's eye and figure your classmates thought you were just the hit of the party. Great recall as always, Nancy.....K

If I had a choice I'd opt for fudge eaten with a spoon too!! The "gooier" the better when it comes to chocolate in any form. Poor mother - worrying herself so. Great story.

I love this time of the year, and reading the favorite memories people have of it. Enjoyed your fudge story!

Lovely to read this, Nancy. I too have made fudge like that many a time in my youth, until I discovered a fool-proof recipe. Kudos to you on this one.

My mouth is literally watering after reading your story, so I might have to go make a batch of fudge just to satisfy my chocolate tooth! Thanks for such a yummy story, Nancy. Is there any sweet treat better than chocolate?
Blessings,
Sandi in FL.

Strong evidence that a "Mommy's mistakes" are often a child's greatest memories of "Mommy's perfections!"

This was heartfelt. Precious memories...

Oh my, I am writing between tears! When I reached the sentence about you taking the pan of fudge and 21 spoons to school that day, my heart just melted. In my mind's eye, I can see your little girl figure proudly marching into your classroom with your contribution. I can smell the aroma of good chocolate. You have evoked feelings with your story as well as having caused my taste buds to go into over-drive! Really, I may have to go to my kitchen and make a batch of the creamy candy and eat it with a spoon before it even has time to set! Thank you for a wonderful story, Nancy.

I missed this when you first posted it. Lovely story. I wish you had your mother's recipe to put with the posting. The fudge sounds yummy.
