I have another angle. Beginning back during the summer, I printed up a number of pages I have left at waiting rooms where I have gone for medical appointments. I have also left them in a couple of Chinese restaurants and a pet supply shop I frequent, and even had one posted on the bank bulletin board for a while. The heading says, "Stories by local author. Then it tells them how to access my stories on OurEcho, giving the URL and search instructions. I carry a few of them with me to hand out to aquaintances I run into in my travels. It promotes not only my writing, but also Ourecho.com.

Wonderful idea! I'll talk to a developer and see if I can make this a little easier. Maybe where you pick a story and it puts it in a printable format with the link at the bottom. Scott

Great ideas, everyone. I'll be implementing them where I can. We're spreading the word indeed! Carol

I put a link to Our Echos in my sig nature that I use on an online stampers forum. Then every comment that I post there has a little advertizing blurb.

I just left a comment for Fred about automating his print idea. I've never heard of tinyurl.com, but like the concept. I'll see if I can do something similar here. I'm thinking about trying to create a URL for each contributor like www.ourecho.com/virginia_allain. I don't know if I can do it, but it's worth looking into.

This was great post and it's really started something. Great ideas from everyone.

Can a member of OurEcho digitally create a couple of banners or icon ads? I wouldn't mind adding a link to OurEcho on a couple of websites I work with, and if there was an 'official' logo ad, such as the ones at a Harry Potter site I visit ( http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/#static:affiliates ), it would make an online campaign more visible. Repetition helps rememberance, after all. I'll also put links up at the sites I frequent.
