Isn't it great to share our Christmas traditions? Yours were so different than mine just as city versus country would be. After I was married, we went home for christmas & found that my 'little sis' had talked Mother in letting her decorating the tree in blue & silver trimmings. Breath takingly beautiful!

Interesting about the blue and silver trimmings on the tree, as that is what my daughter did with theirs the first year they were married. I think she's added other things each year, tho. I've enjoyed the back and forth postings of your family members re books.

Your words struck such a familiar chord, I swear I was one of you, me in Washington, you in Illinois helping our fathers to pick out just the right tree. Loved this memory and you did it so well. Thanks Nancy.......Kath
