Guess what? Mrs. Mike is on my book shelf too! I got my book as a discard from the Madison Library when I had been married for just a few years. I wrote in the front, "Mrs. Gail Martin Madison, Kans. Route 1." All my family has read & reread it. I'm going to read it again. Thanks for the memory. Gail

I do not know how old I was when I first read Mrs. Mike, not very old I'm sure, because That book has stuck in my heart forever. It wasn't till last year that I learned that family produced the movie, making it even mor special. A real keeper, my first book was a paperback, which I am passing on to my grand-daughter this Christmas. Hope she enjoyes it as much as I did.

I love Mrs. Mike. Sure makes me cry though. It's been reissued fairly recently in paperback, so I bought a copy for the library I work for.

I remember Mrs Mike! It has been on Mom's shelves for years. She's had it longer than me!

I'm another one of Gail Martin's daughters and we all loved reading Mrs. Mike. Mom and Dad's well-stocked bookshelves provided all of us with hours of reading pleasure.
I recommend that you read some vintage romances by James Oliver Curwood. The settings and storylines will remind you of Mrs. Mike.

Well, I'm certainly going to have to look up the Mrs. Mike book. I seem to have missed her all these years! I enjoyed this treatise on your books--they are indeed treasures, and I can't imagine not having my home filled with them. Carol

K.L., all this discussion about the Mrs. Mike book inspired me to seek it out. Not only does my library have a copy (1968 publication, 1947 1st publication) but a search on amazon.com turned up a couple of sequels! 50 years later, so that's interesting. They are "The Search for Joyful" and "Kathy Little Bird," featuring Mrs. Mike's adopted daughter. Carol

I read Mrs. Mike when I was but a young adult, and recently gave my copy to my grand-daughter thinking she might enjoy it. I found a copy at a book sale dated 1947. I do not know if that is a first edition or not. Will be sure to check out the other two books. Thanks a heap.
