Absolutely one of the most charming family events I've ever read, tea with your grandmother at Chicago's biggest Department store. How simple. How elegant. I wonder if our grandchildren could begin to realize how important such an event was in our young lives. I feel genuinely sorry for those who never had such a day. As always, you told it so beautifully, Nancy, a memory ne'er forgot.......Kath

I thoroughly enjoyed your "tea memories" and didn't want the story to end. How wonderful that your grandmother gave you the opportunity to experience "high tea," but my guess is that those times you sipped tea in her bakery were just as special.

As an avid tea drinker, and having grown up outside of Chicago, I adored your treasured memory. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, charming story.
