As usual, Kathe, I loved it! And I would think you "nuts" if you didn't talk to them. Robbie

Dearest Kathe,

This story made me realize you are the female version of Dr. Doolittle, who "talked to the animals" in both book and film. You're far prettier than he, however. And I will be your witness as to that big vocabulary that Corky understands. I've seen him obey all your commands and lickety-split, too. Great read.
Hugs,
Nancy

Nuts? Hardly! That is of course, unless I am too. Tae and I have always talked to ours and they to us. I always thought it was just "Doin' what comes natural." According to your photo list, you are the boss. At my house, it is a three legged cat who is Boss. Except in the bird room that is. In there a Scarlet Macaw is boss and she does it in plain English.

Great piece. I loved it.

No, Kathe, you're anything but nuts. We talk to our human chillun, so why not our furry friends, too?! Loved the accompanying photos. Your yard and pets look great, but you look even better!
Write more soon, pretty please!
God bless you,
Sandi in FL.

Well, Kathe--NO YOU ARE NOT NUTS!!
I do the same.
Years ago I saw my mother taking kitchen curtains down to wash. In the corner of one of the curtain folds was a dead moth.
Mom said "You poor little thing, you would not have died up there if I had known about it!"
My love of creatures great and small stemmed from Mom's comment that day! I was only six years old.

Lovely tribute to our friends. Those people that think we are nuts are sure missing out on a lot!

Kathe, this was a wonderful look at your communication with your animals! Just when I think that you have covered every darn inch of life on the mountain, you come out with another treasure. Of course animals can understand us. They can be trained to do so many things. I can see this piece struck a chord with many of your fans, including yours truly. Well done, sis.

Hi Kath,
I have heard so much about you from my friends Fred and Tae Wickert. I can't tell you how in awe of you I am. I am so inpressed with all you do after the donkey accident. I love your stories, and I am also an animal lover. I always talk to my cat "Samantha" who runs our household. I have had many animals down the road, one cocker spaniel from Fred and Tae, we called Muffin. That is how we met. My cat is our only one at this time, but she knows my routine like a book. I just love her. Thank you so much for the joy you give with your stories.

Dear Kathe, believe me when I say that often I believe the animals do understand us humans more than we do them. What a blessing that GOD has given you. Over the years I have had many animals, mostly dogs and cats. Due to where I live now, I cannot have them, and my heart misses their friendship and love. K.L.

Once again I read one of your stories with tears in my eyes. I look at your photos, and I shake my head at the strength and courage and sheer grit you possess. When I grow up, I want to me just like you.......Barbara
