I have in my youth, assisted my dad in making apple cider. Over the years, I have observed many hundreds of gallons of cider being made. I have observed and tasted a variety of recipes. The one you relate is a new one on me, and I might add, one that I believe I won't try. It was certainly good for a laugh. Nice picture of the buffalo.

Kath, only you would manage to find the secret to the "famous apple cider". I can imagine what Ken's face looked like when he saw your discovery.
As always, I enjoy everything that you write. Millie Jones

Great Story Kathe; - You are one talented writer! Good for Ken taking it home with him, it hadn't killed or sickened you in the past, why would it again - A very organinc drink I'd say! Loved your background paper. and photo!

Kathe,

Great story. I wonder how many products we consume that add a whole new meaning to "homemade"?

"Homemeade apple cider" just took on a whole new meaning for me! I'll opt for store-bought apple juice next time!
Delightful story, Kathe dear, as are all your musings.

Oh my Gawd, I darn near died at this.
If we only knew sometimes what was being produced and how, we would have a slim menu indeed.*lol*
I just finished a rather steamy argument over this stuff they make called 'HEAD CHEESE' because I was told the brain of the animal is in it. "Oh, No, Never!" the man told me.

But I know darn well there is animal brain in it because I saw it being made in Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, when I went with Joe to buy some Lunenburg sausage that we both loved and it is to die for!
Now I am back to wondering what the heck was in that????????????????
Good though-like your hilarious writing of the Cider!!

Well now, I believe I will think twice before purchasing anything homemade anymore! Kind of made my stomach turn! Delightful story though, told in your usual wonderful fashion. Keep it up!

Several years ago in Penn. my step father bought some cider, and put it too close to the furnace. Needless to say it fermented, before anyone found it and became a quite a brew. I don't think it was drinkable though. Wonder? LOL K.L.
