It is good for me to learn of someone's appreciation. Where I live, seeing the deer is common place and nearly an every day experience at some times of the year. I see all kinds of wild life. Some don't appreciate that. Some think they are a nuisance. Some are so accustomed that they don't even notice. I never grow tired of it. I always appreciate them and like you, I also look upon it, no matter how many times I see it, to be a "gift." Thankyou for your appreciation.

What a beautiful reminder to slow down and take a look around. Thanks mom, I will think of this story next time I get stuck behind that person who is going 5 MPH below the speed limit, instead of grumbling I will look for the doe. Love Michael

My husband is a hunter and when he brings home his kill I always cry. He believes that if you hunt to eat then it is ok. We do eat the meat and it helps supplement our food budget but still...I, personally cannot bring myself to eat it...in my mind I too "see the doe." I loved your story!

I killed a rabbit once, trying to be a hunter, and let me tell you, I cried like a baby. And I don't do Bambi either. My son gets flustered with me.
