| Biography: | Born on June 30, 1917, Marjorie Lupo Stillwell was the only daughter of Irwin Day Lupo and Lillie Waller. Margie had two older brothers, Paul and Billy Lupo and three younger siblings, Jack, Dick and Larry. In 1940, she married Marvin Stillwell with whom she had four children. They are Diane, Deborah, Timothy and Drayton. In the year 2002, Margie and Marvin celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary. To her friends and family Margie was one of the youngest women they knew despite her eighty-plus years. She was well-read; she wrote poetry effortlessly that is a joy to the ear, and she had long since solved the mysteries of the new literacy, the language of the internet. She was that rarity, a self-taught, educated woman without formal higher education. Margie Stillwell passed away on September 5th, 2005. She was a powerful influence to all those that knew her. For me, the world will be a little less bright without her in it. I will miss her dearly. Scott Lupo |
