| Biography: | I am my generation's storyteller in my Kentucky-based family, but I inherited my talents and ideas from my great-grandfather Bryan "Windy" Eldridge. And my family have provided me plenty of story ideas. My many-times great uncle was hanged in the Salem Witch Trials. Another ancestor was the disinherited son of a nobleman, who fled to America from Britain. Others fought in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, traveled with Daniel Boone, and built a nation. How could I help but fall in love with history, and the stories behind the history? The Heart of a Pirate: The Tale of Anne Bonny, my serial novel coming soon on Our Echo, has been a challenge and a delight. Anne has captivated imaginations since Daniel Defoe first wrote about her (as Captain Charles Johnson) in A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pyrates (1724), but few have captured her story thoroughly. With her intelligence, beauty, courage, and sense of honor, Anne represents a part of the American South that we should all embrace. I'm a professional freelance writer, and I have published numerous short stories. Right now, besides Anne Bonny, I'm currently working on novels about the Salem Witch Trials and other historical events. Oh, did I mention I'm moving to Hawaii in November with my Navy sailor husband and family? |
