Biography:	Robert Villanueva was born in Alaska but has lived most of his life in Kentucky. After graduating from Western Kentucky University with a BA in journalism, he worked for seven years at various local newspapers in positions ranging from staff writer to news editor. During his career as a journalist, he earned nine Kentucky Press Association awards for news, features, columns and photos. He also won the First Place award for Feature Writing from Landmark Community Newspapers, Inc. Villanueva’s short stories, essays, articles and poems have been published by The Summerset Review, The Square Table, AbsoluteWrite.com, C/Oasis, The Heartland Review, The Louisville Eccentric Observer, Snitch, Bluemountain.com, Writer’s Digest Magazine and Write Choice Journal, among other publications. An essay of his was included in Stories of Strength, an anthology which donates 100 percent of its proceeds to disaster relief charities. Villanueva is currently seeking representation for his first completed novel, a literary thriller set in Kentucky. Additionally, he is working on a second novel and a collection of short stories.
